Description
Mazzetti D'Altavilla Grappa Di Barolo Riserva "Storie Di Vitigno"
The aged Barolo Grappa, with great personality, stays in oak wood for two to five years, until the original sensorial profile is modified.
It was love at first sight. Having tasted the Barolo, King Carlo Alberto of Savoy is said to have been unable to resist and, in order to ensure adequate supplies of that excellent Nebbiolo, he decided to buy the castle of Verduno, where General Staglieno, an expert oenologist, created a first-rate Barolo . The Savoy sovereign was only one of the first to be convinced of the value of that wine, today produced in a limited area of the Langhe but known throughout the world. Grappa can only follow in the footsteps of wine, becoming a point of reference for the "dry Piedmontese".
In 2001, winner in Bordeaux of the only gold medal awarded to a Grappa.
