Description
Monica has long been the most widespread vine in Sardinia: it has a very large bunch, almost like table grapes.
The name is given by its diffusion, favoured by the Camaldolese monks around the year 1000. Today it finds its best expression in a few special areas in the Alghero countryside, such as the sands of Lake Baratz.
A wine with a ruby red colour, an intense and persistent bouquet, a dry and slightly acidic flavour, with good softness.
Color : Intense ruby red.
Perfume : Intense and persistent with marked notes of red berried fruits and elegant spicy notes.
Flavour : Dry, quite warm with alcohol, with a slight acidity, savory, with good softness and moderate body.
Accompaniments : It goes well with soups and white meat dishes.
Serving temperature : 18° C – 20° C
Alcohol : 13% vol.
