Sapori Torta di Cecco Covered In Dark Chocolate
The Torta di Cecco originates from the far-off Middle Ages and was improved with the advent of chocolate.
The eponym Cecco, short for Francesco, is a classic Sienese moniker. The most celebrated Cecco of Tuscany is indisputably the Sienese poet Cecco Angiolieri, a man of letters and confidant of Dante.
The unique taste of Torta di Cecco comes from the almonds and hazelnuts that combine with candied oranges and apricots, in a soft dough that is still handmade today.
A 72% dark chocolate coating covers everything for a unique balance of flavours that enhances the taste of the chocolate and hints of fruit.
Torta di Cecco is excellent alone or combined with a passito wine with hints of fruit which, thanks to the enveloping flavour that recalls the aromas of fruit jam, goes perfectly with the mixture of almonds, hazelnuts, fruit and chocolate.
